PROMISING indie four-piece Springfield have a hometown headline show this weekend.
The Whitehaven outfit head to the Yellow Earl on Saturday night to showcase material from their upcoming debut EP.
Just over a year together under the new name - having started out as The Scene - there have been a handful of demo tracks posted online, but work has now begun on their first release, due in 2018.
One of a new breed of indie acts in the area, Springfield mix up influences such as Catfish and the Bottlemen, Oasis, Kasabian and Two Door Cinema Club, with a number of covers also included in their set.
A big year for the band has also seen them play their first out-of-town shows, featuring at Barrow's In Bloom event, Cockermouth's Northbound street party and the Aspatria Music Festival, as well as supporting the renowned Definitely Oasis in Workington.
The show at the recently-opened Yellow Earl venue will be a chance to hear a full-length set from Springfield, before they return on Boxing Day as part of a six-band line-up of West Cumbrian indie bands.
Saturday's free gig gets under way around 8.30pm.
