WHITEHAVEN Rugby League has announced the signing of utility back Ben Fisher.
The former Wigan and Salford academy player came through the junior systems at Wigan St Jude’s and has also had spells player grade rugby in Australia with Goondiwindi Boars and Forster Tuncurry Hawks Boars but has returned and will make the step to the professional game for the 2025 season.
Speaking of the signing of Fisher (25) head coach Anthony Murray said: "Ben has been in some good systems in his early career at Wigan and then Salford.
"He has played his community rugby at St Jude’s and for the last two years has been out over in Oz playing a decent standard over there.
"He now wants to try and put all those experiences together and hopefully establish himself in league one.
"Ben has all the attributes to do well can kick goals, has a good kicking game, has the size to be defensively sound, and is a running threat.
"I’m really pleased he is with us and I am looking forward to seeing how Ben develops."
