WHITEHAVEN Rugby League has announced the signing of Rio McQuistan from National Conference League side Millom.
The utility player has been a mainstay in the Millom side for the last number of seasons as well as representing England Community Lions under 19s in their European competition campaign in 2022.
In the 2024 season, Rio scored four tries in ten appearances for former Haven player Bradd Crellin's side on his return from playing for Grade Rugby in Australia.
Head coach Anthony Murray, who has also played for and coached the Millom club, said: "Rio is another local player from Millom who I have been watching over some time.
"He went out to Australia to gain some valuable experience and has also represented England Community Lions.
"I'm really pleased he has decided to make the step into professional rugby with us at Haven, he is a back row forward and runs hard so will add some good attacking threat on the edges and is defensively strong."
