WHITEHAVEN Rugby League has announced the signing of utility back Jay Weatherill.
He has come from National Conference League side Hensingham ARLFC.
Weatherill (25) had a fantastic season as Kris Coward’s side gained promotion from Division 3 to Division 2 in the NCL following his close season move from Wath Brow Hornets scoring 14 tries and 41 goals in 15 appearances to be nominated Division 3 Player of the year.
Weatherill has also represented England Community Lions at the Under 23 level alongside fellow recent signing Mason Lewthwaite scoring a hat-trick from the bench in a 56-0 victory over Wales Dragonhearts in November 2022.
Speaking about the signing of Weatherill head coach Anthony Murray said: "I’m delighted Jay has decided to join us after a really successful season with his community club Henisingham.
"Jay played a massive part this season in the promotion push and gained some personal reward for that being nominated for the NCL division three Player of the Year.
"Jay is a proven try scorer having played at various levels of the community game and i am really excited to see him do that in front of the faithful at Haven."
