WHITEHAVEN Rugby League has announced the signing of Josh Blinkhorn from National Conference League side Millom RLFC. 

The former Under 19’s England Community Lions hooker had a standout season for the Millom club having been the club’s leading try scorer in their NCL Division 2 season scoring 8 tries in 19 appearances as well as being voted the club’s 1st team player of the year. 

Blinkhorn (18) has also spent time in the Jets programme at Barrow Raiders as well as spending time with Super League club Salford Red Devils but will wear Haven colours next season 

Speaking about the signing of Blinkhorn head coach Anthony Murray said: "I’m delighted to offer Josh his opportunity into the professional game.

"Josh is another local player coming through the ranks at local Cumbrian club Millom and has also represented England Community Lions.

"Josh has a real desire and commitment to improving his game and has a real professional attitude and approach to what he does.

"I’m really looking forward to seeing how Josh develops in this environment and I’m very excited to see how he develops and meets the challenges to play at this level head-on."
