WHITEHAVEN Rugby League's head coach Kyle Amor has spoken out ahead of the final game of the season.

On Sunday, September 29, Whitehaven RL will face off against Halifax in the last game of the 2024 campaign.

The West Cumbrian outfit will take on the Yorkshire side at 3pm at the Ortus Rec.

Head coach Kyle Amor spoke to Jordan Weir, said: "We got to the very end, that's what we set out to do. You reminded me of that on the weekend that although I was quite down after the game and for about a day and a half after, I've been around long enough to know that you've just got to stand up, puff your chest out, and go again.

"I think the boys tonight have trained with a real energy about themself. I think it is a relief that's bringing out that energy.

"The lads have been through it very tough; I've said a number of times that I'll always applaud this playing group for its efforts, and we get to do it one more time.

"The message is simple this week, play with a smile on your face, have some fun, and just look after each other and enjoy your last game together in what has been a very difficult season.

"Since my time here I think we've scored about 50 points, so I can't see us scoring 130 this week. The points difference has been too much of an ask, we know that, and the players know that.

"It's important that we go out there and just play, find that little kid in you, and find your reason why you want to just play.

"Halifax are coming here so it's a bit of an unknown from them, but obviously they'll want to finish the season off well.

"They've had their difficulties too and I have no doubt that there will be some big changes for them.

"The announcement of their coach going to Huddersfield Giants, and the money troubles they've had. They will be in the same boat."
