WHITEHAVEN RL faced another defeat when they took on Barrow Raiders in the Cumbrian derby.

Haven could be facing relegation which will be determined in the two final games of the season.

Head coach Kyle Amor said: "The Raiders got away in the second half, we gifted them 14 points in the first half.

"I said to the lads today that if they were to speak to any of their relatives who weren't at Craven Park today, and told them one team gave away twice as many penalities which team do you think would win?

"It was as simple as that really, and the team was Barrow. There was a 6-0 penalty count in favour of them.

"We started the game so well, we had good intent and Gebbie got a try early on. I thought we were looking good, I liked physically what the middles were doing, but I knew that Barrow would have a say in it.

"In the first half, I thought we were the better team, we gave away yardage and penalties.

"The thing about Barrow is they can score points there's no doubt about that, they scored 24 points last week.

"They played the numbers game well and without having to exert any energy we invited them down near our line and twice they scored.

"So that took us to 14-10 and the lads knew we were in a game and I was excited that we were ready to go again.

"We don't understand what's required and needed in a game. We are not in a position where we will beat people by 20 or 30 points.

"If we're going to win it's going to be close, I think most of our wins this year have been on the hooter or thereabouts within ten points or whatever it is.

"The players need to understand what's required in games, and the higher up in the competition in any sport you go, the best teams often have players that make good decisions under fatigue at speed."
