A FORMER Whitehaven RL coach will be visiting the town later this year.
Don Gailer who coached Whitehaven during their promotion to Championship in 2012 will visit the West Cumbrian town with his family in December.
The visit is part of the Gailer family's Christmas visit to the UK and Europe, they will be in Whitehaven from December 11 to December 18.
The family is hoping to have a possible meet-up with fans, players, board of directors staff, and supporters.
In a post on social media, Don Gailer wrote: "You will recall that Don and his staff coached Whitehaven to promotion to the Championship in August 2012 and was the joint coach along with Gary Charlton who guided the Cumbrian 9s team to success in June 2012, beating Featherstone in the final.
"Don and his family made many friends during their year in the UK, keeping in touch with many of us and Don often mentions Whitehaven RL during his Monday night radio show 'The Hump' on Brisbane local radio.
"This area and its people left a positive mark on Don and his family."
An event will be held on Sunday, December 15, in the Gary Purdham Suite. More details can be found on social media.
