WHITEHAVEN Rugby League has announced the loan signing of Neil Tchamambe from Hull Kingston Rovers on an initial two-week deal.
Following the potential long-term loss of Edene Gebbie with a hamstring injury the coaching staff have worked hard to bring in a replacement with the England academy international available for our next two Championship fixtures away to Swinton and Sheffield.
Head coach Jonty Gorley spoke of Tchamambe’s, he said: "When Hull KR took AJ Wallace back they offered us, Neil, as a replacement, and with the numbers I've got available, especially with losing Gebbie for a spell on the sidelines, I jumped at the chance to bring Neil in.
"He's definitely an athlete standing at around 6'5 and he can travel a bit as well. After speaking with Shaun Kenny-Dowall about Neil, he says he's a good carrier out of the backfield and finishes well too."
The club can also announce the extension of the loan deals of Lennie Ellis and Noah High. Having joined on an initial two-week deal hooker Ellis will remain with the club for a further two weeks having made two appearances in our last two fixtures vs Featherstone and Toulouse.
Noah High will remain with the club for the remainder of the 2024 campaign.
The Cumbrian back-rower scored two tries on his debut in a victory over Dewsbury last month and will now remain with the club.
The club has thanked Hull KR and Warrington for their co-operation in these deals.
