Whitehaven Rugby League have completed the loan signing of Lewis Baxter from Betfred Super League side Leigh Leopards.
Baxter will play for the Cumbrian team for the remainder of the 2024 campaign.
The utility forward has made two appearances in the Super League and brings experience from his time at St Helens, Swinton and North Wales.
Whitehaven's head coach, Jonty Gorley, said: "We've tried to get Lewis for a few weeks now for cover for our back row but he's had a niggling injury, so Leigh have waited until he is fit to play.
"Lewis coming is even more timely now with Owen McCarron missing this week with his HIA.
"Lewis joined Leigh from St Helens after coming through their youth ranks to eventually play Super League for saints.
"As always, with lads who come through SL systems, Lewis will do the right thing on and off the field for us and I'm sure he'll make an impression on Saturday."
Leigh retain the right to recall Baxter after a two-week period.
