Egremont ABC was in action twice over the weekend with one boxer, Leon Ryan, 10, traveling 700 miles in 48 hours.
The first contest was in Hull on Friday, March 3 on the Kingston ABC show, Leon was up against Vinnie Atkinson of the host club.
A spokesperson said: "The home boxer came out fast trying to pressure Ryan, Leon replied with good counterpunching on the back foot to take a close round.
"In the second round, Leon boxed cleverly on the back foot frustrating the hull boxer who started to swing, the boxers came in close tangling their feet causing Ryan to fall back.
"The referee counted this as a knockdown to the dismay of Ryan and his corner, Ryan still winning the round.
"The third was Leon’s best round using his speed of hand and foot and not letting the home boxer lead off Leon came home with a points win."
In his second bout on Sunday, Leon Ryan boxed Louie Staunton of the host club Derry Matthews boxing Academy at Liverpool. Leon was giving away height and reach.
The spokesperson continued: "Round One saw Leon countering well on the back foot, fainting well, and catching Staunton well to the body and head to take the round.
"Round Two started very fast with Staunton coming to centre ring fainting well and catching Leon with his long lead, but it was Leon that got the better of the exchanges and pushed Staunton back to the ropes, the round ended very close.
"Round 3 started fast as the first two did with Leon moving better in and out making Louie miss and countering with combinations making the home boxer go on the back foot.
"Near the end of the round, the hometown favourite came on strong trying to catch the judge's eye but it was too late as Leon’s superior footwork and counterpunches took the round. Leon won on points."
Coach Dick Newton, added: "The club is super proud of Leon and his commitment, we are sure there are many more good days to come. He is a keen trainer and is eager for bouts we are more than happy to hit the road, on to the next."
