RUGBY union players of Whitehaven are embarking on a gruelling endurance challenge, which will benefit three worthy causes.
Whitehaven RUFC has announced that players will take part in a “Tour de Cumbria” charity bike ride, raising funds for The Great North Air Ambulance, Time to Share Bereavement Services and the club’s youth system, the Sharks.
A team of 20 brave participants from the rugby club will cycle 291 miles visiting 22 rugby union clubs in Cumbria over just three days.
The challenge will see players cycle 100 miles each day for their worthy causes, beginning on Friday August 27.
Whitehaven RUFC hope to raise £10,000 for their causes with the mammoth charity challenge.
Individual donations will be sought closer to the time but for now, the club are looking for sponsorship from businesses.
Organisations and businesses can lend their support in a variety of ways.
As well as making donations to the cause, businesses can support the effort by supplying support vehicles or team wear.
The company logo of all that support the effort will be proudly emblazoned on the jerseys.
Those who would like to know more or organise support can contact event organiser Lee Jones on 07594228563.
