The White Horse Sea Angling Club's match last Sunday for the Thompson Trophy was fished from Seascale slipway to Harrington pier in calm conditions up to high water.
First was B Patrickson with a thornback ray – the heaviest fish of the day at 4lb 9oz – and three dogfish for 8lb 9½oz.
Coming in second was L Lynch, whose three plaice and a flounder weighed 6lb 8oz to earn the runner-up spot.
T Pullin was third, reeling in a trio of dogfish for 4lb 8oz and fourth was J Murray with three dogfish for 3lb13oz.
The club's next match is this coming Sunday from Seascale slipway to Harrington pier.
Fishing will be from 4pm to 8pm, with a one-hour walk-on and weigh-in at the north shore car park.
