St Benedict’s continued their dominant charge to the Cumbria League title with a 38-5 win at home to Whitehaven.
They have now won 15 games in a row and have not lost since their trip to Upper Eden on October 19, which was their only defeat of the campaign so far.
Nearest challengers Cockermouth and Upper Eden, who are second and third respectively, both won to keep the pressure on but the runaway leaders remain 15 points clear of the former and 22 ahead of the latter.
Cockermouth travelled to take on Hawcoat Park and ran out 48-17 winners, while Upper Eden were also on the road in South Cumbria to win 47-5 at Furness.
Millom entertained Windermere and came away with a 22-17 victory and Egremont won 36-26 at Workington while Wigton’s game against Silloth was postponed.
A crop of injuries throughout the campaign has resulted in Carlisle Crusaders resigning from the league.
Every effort made is expected to be made to reintroduce the Crusaders to the division next season.
Saturday fixtures: Cockermouth v St Benedict’s, Silloth v Furness, Upper Eden v Millom, Whitehaven v Wigton, Windermere v Creighton, Workington v Hawcoat Park.
