Five players have left Borough Park and won’t be wearing Workington Reds colours next season.
Following on from the appointment of new manager Danny Grainger and the club’s relegation to Evo-Stik North/West, the club has confirmed that five players are no longer with Reds.
Forwards Sam Joel, Gary Thompson and Jason Walker were not offered terms for next season whilst midfielders Niall Cowperthwaite and Dan Carmichael have both chosen to move on.
A statement from the club said that they would like to thank the quintet for their contribution last season and, in Sam Joel’s case, since 2017.
And they wished them every success at the next stage of their respective careers.
Reds are continuing to build for the start of the new season, with Nathan Waterston unveiled as Grainger’s first new signing on Saturday.
And they have confirmed that several other players have been offered a deal for the 2019-20 campaign, with the club waiting to hear back from them.
