Former Workington Reds boss Dave Hewson believes today’s Legends game in memory of former star Tony Hopper will be a "great occasion" for everyone involved.
Reds are due to take on a Legends side at Borough Park this afternoon (2pm kick-off), with the winner set to be presented with the Tony Hopper Memorial Trophy.
Hewson is one of the players set to get their boots on for the clash and said he was pleased to be asked to be part of a day in memory of someone who had "made such a positive impression".
"I knew Tony for quite a lot of years and managed to play with him for a lot of that time," he said.
"I think everybody's pleased to be involved.
"It means so much to so many people and every person he was around, whether through football or just through friendship, speaks so highly of him.
"It is for such a good purpose and I'm sure fans from Carlisle United and Workington Reds will make it a good turnout."
Reds' first new signing for the 2019/20 season is also set to be unveiled at the ground at 10.30am.
