Workington Comets have called on former rider Claus Vissing to help them mount a comeback against Scunthorpe in the Knockout Cup final.
Comets trail by 18 points on aggregate after a 54-36 first-leg loss at Scunthorpe on Sunday but they will be confident they can turn that around in the second leg at Derwent Park on Thursday night (7.30pm start), with the Danish racer coming in as a guest for the injured Dan Bewley.
Rider replacement will be used for Ty Proctor, who will also miss the fixture due to injury.
The West Cumbrian side face a breathless end to the season as they look set to tackle five meetings in as many days for three pieces of silverware.
The hectic period starts with the Knockout Cup final against the Scorpions on Thursday, while Comets will find out their SGB Championship play-off final opponents after Lakeside and Peterborough complete the second leg of their semi-final tomorrow night, with the two-legged final pencilled in for Saturday at Rye House and Sunday at Derwent Park (both 7.30pm starts) if the Hammers build on their two-point aggregate lead and progress.
The Championship Shield final second leg and an outstanding league meeting, both against Lakeside, will then be restaged on Monday (7.30pm start) after the double header was rained off last Saturday.
Comets are two points up on aggregate in the shield final after their 46-44 win at Rye House last Friday.
