A SHOPLIFTER has been fined for stealing a £30 necklace from a department store.
Michelle McCourt, 37, stole the item of jewellery from Dixons department store in Whitehaven on Monday, November 11.
McCourt, of Peter Street, Whitehaven, pleaded guilty to theft from a shop when she appeared before Workington Magistrates’ Court.
She was fined £40 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £16 surcharge. An application was made for benefit deductions.
