Resurfacing works on Whitehaven's Overend Road have been completed.
Cumberland Council has announced the works, which started on November 11, have 'improved the road surface for smoother and safer journeys'.
The council has highlighted the importance of the work to allow smooth access to West Cumberland Hospital, ensuring ambulances and emergency vehicles can reach those in need without delay.
A spokesperson said: "A heartfelt thank you to residents and businesses for your patience and cooperation throughout this essential project.
"Your support allowed us to complete the work on schedule."
