A DRINK-driver who was more than twice the alcohol limit has been banned from the roads for 22 months.
Stephen Scarth, 34, was driving a Ford Focus on the A595 at Clints Brow in Egremont on October 24.
A breath test showed he had 91mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath. The legal limit to drive is 35mcg.
Scarth pleaded guilty to driving a motor vehicle with alcohol level above the limit when he appeared before Workington Magistrates’ Court.
He was banned from driving for 22 months, to be reduced by 22 weeks, if he completes the drink-drivers’ rehabilitation course.
Scarth, of Cathedral Drive, Stockton-on-Tees, was also fined £711 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £284 victim surcharge.
