A WOMAN who kicked out at a police officer while being arrested will be sentenced next month.
Marie Hinde, 44, pleaded guilty to assault by beating of an emergency worker when she appeared before Workington Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
The offence took place in Whitehaven on October 17.
Briefly outlining the case, defence solicitor Mike Woolaghan said police had been in the process of arresting Hinde when she had kicked out at police.
Mr Woolaghan said there had been a ‘deterioration’ in the defendant’s mental health and a pre-sentence report would be required by the Probation Service.
Hinde, of Scalegill Place, Moor Row, will be sentenced on December 2.
Jacqui Currie, presiding magistrate, told Hinde that all sentencing options remained open.
