Let us know if any of your favourite lakes made the list.

Ennerdale Water

Ennerdale lies on the northwestern edge of the Lake District National Park.

It is home to some of England's most vibrant natural environments and one of the longest-running wildland restoration projects in the UK.

Some of the classic ‘Wainwrights’ Pillar, Great Gable, and Kirk Fell are the giants of the skyline towering over Ennerdale Water.

Derwentwater

This lake is only a ten-minute walk from the town centre of Keswick. From one direction there is an amazing view of Cat Bells, and to the other side of the lake is Friar's Crag.

There are a wide array of cafes and restaurants to enjoy whilst in Keswick.

Buttermere

This is a tranquil area of dramatic fells, farms, and woodland.

The fells offer exhilarating and challenging ridgeline walks, and the lakes offer easy lakeshore walking with beautiful views.

Loweswater

This is a peaceful lake that is often bypassed, it is located in the far west of the Lake District in the Vale of Lorton.

This area provides an excellent lake circuit for walkers.

Wastwater

Wastwater is England's deepest lake. The view from the south-western end of the lake near the youth hostel was voted Britain’s Favourite View in 2007 by television viewers.
