THE NHS in Cumbria is urging people to use Urgent Care Centres.
Due to pressures on A&E and other services, North Cumbria Integrated Care (NCIC) is urging people to use Urgent Treatment Centres.
There are two of these located across North Cumbria and they can be used to help people with symptoms and injuries that need urgent treatment but are not life-threatening.
In a post on social media, NCIC wrote: "If you need urgent care but your condition is not life-threatening, then you can go to your nearest Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) in either Penrith or Keswick.
"UTCs can help you with a wide range of conditions, including abdominal pain, eye problems, minor head injuries, minor scalds and burns, sprains and strains, suspected broken limbs and much more.
"Not only will you receive fantastic care from the UTC teams, you will likely be seen much quicker than in A&E."
