A renowned customer service expert will headline a free event at Lakes College.

Geoff Ramm, known for helping businesses stand out through exceptional service, will be speaking at the 'Embracing Excellence in the Visitor Economy' event on October 16.

The event, aimed at assisting local businesses in tackling staffing challenges and attracting new repeat customers, is particularly relevant for those in tourism, hospitality, and retail sectors currently facing significant issues with rising costs and recruitment.

The event will offer practical advice for operators to use in their daily business operations.

The schedule includes talks and workshops for HR and marketing professionals.

The Times/Sunday Times journalist Sean Newsom will discuss collaborating with national journalists, while VisitEngland will provide insights on capturing new markets through the group travel trade.

Lakes College catering and hospitality students will also showcase their produce, providing a free lunch and desserts using local recipes such as Borrowdale Tea Bread and Cumberland Rum Nicky.

Supported by Cumberland Council and the UK Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund, the event offers free tickets to businesses in the Cumberland Council area.
