THERE is an ongoing Fashion Exhibition taking place at The Beacon in Whitehaven.
Cumbria has a long tradition of manufacturing, which the Fabric to Fashion Exhibition hopes to celebrate.
The exhibition uncovers the stories of local manufacturers Edgards, Kangol, Millers, and Sekers.
In a post on social media, The Beacon wrote: "Chances are, that you or a family member will know someone who worked at one of the manufacturers or worked there yourself.
"Did you know that at its height, Millers employed nearly 2,000 workers who produced around 60,000 pairs of shoes a week? Wow! These shoes were distributed through almost every major retail outlet on British high streets at the time.
"We love this pair of classic white court shoes made by Millers Footwear Ltd, that we have on loan from Kirkgate Arts and Heritage."
