A well-known SAS soldier who has appeared on TV will be coming to Whitehaven.
Rusty Firmin will be coming to The Marchon Club on Saturday, October 26.
Peter Boyle, who has organised the event said: "The night will start at 7pm and tickets cost £25, anyone who would like to book a place can call me on 07759495761."
Firmin was born and raised in Carlisle, he joined the 49 Field Regiment Royal Artillery and whilst there was made captain of the regimental football team and represented the Royal Artillery and British Army football team at the top amateur level.
He completed several tours of Northern Ireland and was also involved in adventure training.
Following further training, he was awarded the coveted Green Beret.
In 1977 he applied to join the SAS and was awarded the Beige Beret.
