A NEW company has been formed to bring more live music to West Cumbria.

Off The Pier, has been formed by Josh Shepherd and Jack McNicholas, as they hope to bring live musical performances from talented musicians across Whitehaven and West Cumbria.

The first concert they are organising will be in March 2025 at The Solway Hall in Whitehaven.

This will be a charity benefit night in memory of Zoe Tighe and Dawn Lawson.

Money will be raised for Great North Air Ambulance and The UK Sepsis Trust.

Local artists Jolan, The Northern Threads, Springfield, and Solomon will be performing.

Josh Shepherd said: "We hope that people will just come to our shows with the idea of discovering their new favourite band and at the same time supporting the local venues, we have ideas of a multi-venue festival in Whitehaven, maybe hosting a stage at a local festival or even starting up our own podcast, we are open to ideas and open to other people getting involved who have a similar interest, just get in touch with our social media pages.

"Jake and I have both spent our time learning and helping Mighty Boof Promotions and following their last event in August 2023, we have wanted to continue putting on events in our area.

"Our first show is going to be a very special one in memory of Zoe Tighe and Dawn Lawson who both unfortunately left us too soon, their sons are both bass players in local bands Springfield and The Northern Threads who will feature on this charity night.

"Taking place on Friday, March 21 in the Solway Hall, Whitehaven, we are hosting a charity show featuring local bands Springfield, The Northern Threads, and Solomon and headlined on the night by Jolan

"Tickets will be £20 and money will be raised for Great North Air Ambulance and The UK Sepsis Trust and available from The Solway Hall Website."
