A PAIR of 'hard-working' window cleaners have been celebrated after reaching 30 years with a west Cumbrian business.

Paul Harrison and Wayne Edgar have worked for Lamplugh-based JA Lee Window Cleaning for 30 years and have been praised by owner Andrew Lee upon reaching the milestone.

To celebrate the pair's dedication and hard work Andrew Lee gifted Paul and Wayne with a weekend spa getaway at Keswick's popular four-star Lodore Falls Hotel & Spa.

Paul and Wayne initially joined Andrew's company, which was founded in 1980, in 1994 as window cleaning operatives and have worked their way up to leading positions in the company.

After the pair reached the milestone, Andrew had to congratulate Paul and Wayne as well as discuss his company's appreciation for its long-serving team members.

He said: "Paul is our overall operations manager in overall charge and is responsible for managing all the window cleaning teams, making sure they all have the correct equipment are given the correct work each week, and work in a professional, efficient, and safe manner.

"Wayne is our Centre Parcs manager, he manages all of the teams that are put onto Centre Parcs at Penrith.

"They both started as window cleaning operatives and worked up to supervisors and then as time has gone on they have kept on progressing.

"They have been very loyal and incredibly hard-working in the 30 years they have been here and their dedication means a lot to me.

"The fact that they have been here for 30 years is a testament to them and the company but we have also got quite a lot of people who have been here for 10, 15, or 20 years and it is great that people choose to stay with us for so long."

Throughout the pair's 30 years with JA Lee Window Cleaning they have also taken part in charity fundraisers, including when the team 'braved the shave' for Macmillan Cancer For Kids in 2015.

In addition, Wayne's hard work has seen him help the company scoop awards as well as be featured by the British Cleaning Council.
