A MEMORIAL service will be held to commemorate the lives of Cumberland miners.
The service will take place on Sunday, September 29, at St James' Church in Whitehaven.
A spokesperson said: "The service will be the first of its kind to commemorate all of the West Cumberland miners, their communities, and the losses."
All are welcome and there will be refreshments provided afterwards.
