St Bees School welcomed students from across the globe last week, marking the start of another school year.
The West Cumbria school has students from Austria, Germany, Spain, Italy, China, Hong Kong, and Sweden.
This international mix contributes to a "true global community", according to the school.
Headmaster Andrew Keep expressed his enthusiasm for the new term, saying: "Here at St Bees School, we take immense pride in providing a nurturing and inclusive environment where students from all walks of life can come together to excel.
"Our international students bring unique perspectives, experiences, and values that enrich our school community and enhance our global outlook."
The first week of the academic year was packed with orientation activities to help students settle into their new environment.
These included team-building exercises on the nearby beach and cultural exchange events.
Director of admissions, Ceara Fisher, highlighted the school's diversity, stating: "With 40 per cent of our students from international backgrounds and 50 boarding with us, we are proud to offer a vibrant, global environment where everyone can grow, learn and thrive."
St Bees School is known for its commitment to academic success and a well-rounded approach to personal development and global citizenship.
The school offers a broad curriculum with a selection of extracurricular activities, preparing students not just for academic achievements but also to become future leaders who contribute positively to the global community.
As students embark on their educational journey, they are encouraged to embrace their diversity, find common ground, and build lifelong friendships.
St Bees School, an independent day and boarding school, has a history spanning over 430 years and is open to students from ages 11 to 18.
