The summer holidays might be over but many families across Cumbria will still enjoy a weekend visit to the various shopping centres on offer in the region.
With Christmas just a few months away, you might fancy a trip to the shopping centre to get some early gifts bought, ahead of the winter rush.
And, with the weather no doubt taking a turn for the worse in the coming weeks, a shopping centre can also be a great way to keep the kids entertained indoors.
Whatever your plans, there are plenty of options to choose from, and Trip Advisor has determined the best six across Cumbria.
1. Hayes Garden World Ambleside
The garden and shopping centre has grown and traded on the same site for over 200 years, and boasts an impressive 4/5 rating on Trip Advisor.
2. The Rheged Centre, Penrith
Rheged is a gallery, café, cinema, shopping venue, workplace and creative space on the edge of the Northern Lakes. It has a rating of 3.5/5 with over 1000 reviews.
3. Barrow Market Hall, Barrow-in-Furness
Described as one of the friendliest indoor markets in Cumbria with over 30 independent businesses all under one roof, the market hall is rated 4.5/5, as it clearly keeps its customers happy.
4. Ulverston Market Hall, Ulverston
The traditional market hall has an excellent selection of stalls and lots of friendly stall holders, making it a great afternoon visit in the small town of Ulverston. It is rated 4/5 on Trip Advisor.
5. Angel Square Shopping Centre, Penrith
Angel Square is an outdoor shopping centre, offering a wide range of retail occupiers. It has a rating of 4.5/5 from Trip Advisor.
6. Washington Square Shopping Centre, Workington
This west Cumbrian hotspot boasts a wide range of shopping outlets and is located in Workington's city centre. It has a rating of 3.5/5.
7. Blackhall Yard, Artisan Shopping, Kendal
Blackhall Yard, was once home to the original Kendal Mint Cake Factory and it now hosts friendly, independent artisan and specialist shops. It promises something for everyone, and is rated 3.5/5 by Trip Advisor.
