Twelve flood warnings have been issued across Cumbria, with high tides, strong winds and large waves expected to cause issues overnight in coastal areas.
The highest tide level is expected at 1:45 AM on August 22, with flooding possible two hours either side of this time.
Areas most at risk include Rockcliffe, Longburgh, Port Carlisle, Bowness-on-Solway, Anthorn, Angerton and Skinburness areas.
On the west coast, Silloth to St Bees Head including Allonby, Maryport, Flimby, Workington, Parton and Whitehaven, are also at risk.
Further south, the coastline at Barrow-in-Furness could also be affected.
The Environment Agency has closed flood gates at Skinburness Marsh, Flimby, Well Lane Maryport and Ravenglass.
They said: "We do not expect to issue further Flood Warnings for the high tides tomorrow but we do expect to issue a Flood Alert for the high tide tomorrow night.
"Start acting on your flood plan if you have one."
Locals are urged to stay away from beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads in as large waves and sea spray could be dangerous.
Flood alerts have also been issued at the Upper River Derwent, Stonethwaite Beck, Derwent Water, Rivers Brathay, Rothay and Winster due to heavy rain, with people asked to take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water.
Rivers Cocker, Marron, Derwent, Ehen, Calder, Irt and Esk could also be affected by the heavy rain scheduled for this evening, with flooding a possibility.
