A Whitehaven man has published his debut novella reflecting his experiences as a mental health crisis worker and substance misuse recovery worker.
Aaron Padley's book, The Resurrection of Jamie Jackson, was published on July 31.
The gothic tale follows the heart-wrenching journey of a father coming to terms with his daughter's loss who now haunts her own body.
Mr Padley, who was raised in Cleator Moor, worked as a mental health crisis worker in Whitehaven and then in Leeds as a substance misuse recovery worker.
The book was published a week before his 25th birthday.
The 112-page novella also pays tribute to Mr Padley's recently deceased uncle, hoping it can support others dealing with grief.
The novella is available for horror fans on Amazon and Barnes & Noble in paperback.
The book's first review on Goodreads said: "I devoured this book the same day it arrived".
