Copeland Police have welcomed an unusual new team member, judging by the official Facebook account's most recent post.

Incredibly, one member of the Cumbria based police force witnessed a horse pop its head in through the car window this week, prompting her to share the image online.

On Facebook, Copeland Police wrote: "Tell me you're from a Rural police force without telling me you're from a rural police force."

The new four-legged team member will be helping to reign in wrongdoers with its nose for crime.

It certainly isn't horsing around and is already proving adept at making connections in the local area, and it looks likely that it will soon be sharing important information, straight from the horse's mouth.
