WHITEHAVEN AFC invited students from Huangguang Middle School in China, who are currently residing at St Bees School, to play football.
The students had the opportunity to train at Whitehaven's facilities, which they said they found 'immensely enjoyable.'
A Whitehaven AFC spokesperson said: "Their enthusiasm led to a request for a friendly mixed 11-a-side game against Whitehaven AFC, a proposal the club readily accepted. The match took place two days later, on Thursday, July 25.

"The game started with an exciting goal from Fred James, who scored a delightful header. The match saw both teams net several goals, embodying the true spirit of friendly football with plenty of smiles and laughter throughout.
"David Norbury, the finance manager at St Bees School, expressed his heartfelt thanks to Luke Johnson, Paul Smith, and Dave Hodgson of Whitehaven AFC for orchestrating such a memorable event for the Huangguang students. Their efforts ensured a special and enjoyable occasion for everyone involved."
