A VEHICLE was seized for having no road tax in a joint operation between Copeland police and teams from the counties road and nuclear police forces.

Officers from Cumbria Constabulary Nuclear Estates Team (CCNET), Roads Policing Unit and Civil Nuclear Constabulary (CNC) conducted a joint road traffic operation at Egremont this morning, July 22.

Numerous offences were said to have been noted during the operation, with one vehicle being seized for having no valid tax.

In a statement on social media, Copeland police said: "The aim was to check vehicles for any document offences, as well as vehicle defaults and offences.

"Over the period of two hours numerous offences were noted, including a vehicle having no valid tax and it was seized for this. We also gave advice on tyres and showed people how to ensure they were road legal.

"We work together with CNC on a regular basis to help build better working relationships, for stakeholder engagements, and to keep everyone on the roads safe around West Cumbria."
