THE deadline for nominations in Cumbria's most prestigious business awards is fast approaching, as organisers Newsquest announce a new look for the much-anticipated annual event.

This year's in-Cumbria Business Awards will take place at Dalston Hall on November, 29 being hosted by presenter and broadcaster Zara Janjua.

The award will return with a new look, which includes an after show party featuring DJ, Sax player and casino following the awards ceremony.

As well as broadening the the Best Marketeer category to include Marketing Teams rather than just one marketing individual, there have been two new categories announced for the 2024 awards.

BEST GREEN BUSINESS - Judges are looking for businesses that demonstrate a strong commitment to reducing their environmental impact across all operations. Key considerations include efforts to reduce its carbon emissions and investments in renewable energy. Additionally, the company should prioritise sustainability and innovation, actively seeking ways to minimize its environmental footprint while fostering positive environmental change.

NEW FOR 2024 BEST DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION BUSINESS - We are looking for a business who can demonstrate a commitment towards diversity and inclusion, this should be reflected in the company's values. There has to be opportunity for all – that’s what this region was built on. So, who has impressed you with their strategies and policies, but also with their passion for fairness and determination to deliver equality everywhere? The business should foster an inclusive workplace culture where all employees feel valued, respected, and empowered to contribute.
