A CUMBERLAND pub has been given a new food hygiene rating.
The Royal Standard, at West Strand, Whitehaven, Cumbria was given a score of five on May 14.
The hygienic handling of food was found to be Good and the cleanliness and condition of the facilities and building were found to be Good.
The management of food safety was also found to be Good.
It means that of Cumberland's 321 pubs, bars, and nightclubs with ratings, 252 (79%) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
