A VEHICLE was uplifted after it was discovered to be registered as SORN.
The incident took place in the Whitehaven area and involved a Land Rover.
A spokesperson said: "PC 2241 was on patrol in tow with PC 3157 this afternoon; whilst out they made an interesting discovery.
"This Land Rover was registered as SORN and as such had no road tax; using discretion, the officers attempted to steer the owner in the direction of the DVLA website to secure road tax at the scene but this conversation seemed to go off track, and instead resulted in an uplift for a Section 165a of the Road Traffic Act."
