THIS week we wanted to take a look back at the Maritime Festivals in Whitehaven.
The popular events ran for almost two decades and were arguably the biggest attraction of the year.
The first festival took place 26 years ago in 1999 and was a much bigger success that what was expected.
For many years later thousands of people would descend on the harbour each summer to enjoy the attractions that were on offer.
There really was something for everyone at the Maritime, including visits from tall ships, continental markets, a fairground, and as the festivals reached their peak visits from celebrities, live cookery shows, and performances from a range of artists.
A whole host of celebrities visited the festivals including Louis Walsh, Dynamo, and Gino D' Campo.
Popular artists such as N-Dubz, The Vamps, and Madness also performed on the stage by the harbourside.
The markets were known for selling a variety of food and drinks like confectionary stalls, exotic meat burgers, and delicacies from the world over.
Members of the public could also buy household items and gardening wares.
The fairground was always brimming with classic rides like the waltzers and teacups to keep children and young people entertained.
Local schools would often get involved and put on their own musical shows and productions on smaller stages around the Marina.
These photos show some of the activities that happened over the 18 years that the events took place.
We hope that they help to bring back some fond memories for you all.
