A YOUTH has been arrested on suspicion of possession of a knife.
On Tuesday, May 7, police said that a 15-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of possession of a knife following a stop search by officers in Whitehaven town centre.
A Cumbria Police spokesperson said: "The boy initially made off from officers before being stopped, he has since been released on bail whilst investigations are ongoing.
"We continue to work hard to tackle knife crime by enforcing the law and educating people from an early age about the dangers of carrying a knife and getting involved in violent crime."
