WHITEHAVEN Community Trust will host a charity evening to raise money for the trust, and past service users will be in attendance sharing how they were helped.
The charity evening which is a 'night of gratitude and celebration' will take place on June 20 at 6.30pm at Whitehaven Golf Club. The night will include live music from local band Misfitz, a three course meal with wine, an auction and prize draw, a magician performance and talks from service users and Trust staff.
CEO, Kerry Maxwell O.B.E said: “We are doing the charity auction to raise money for the Trust but we are also going to be talking about the achievements of WCT over the last 34 years.
"There will be speeches and some videos of ex services users talking about how the trust helped them. There will be walk around magicians and we are lucky enough to have Misfitz performing. It will be a good value night out."
The event is a celebration of Whitehaven Community Trust over the last 34 years. The night was originally going to take place in 2020 but COVID struck and it was put on the back burner, until now.
The money raised from the event will go towards helping fund the work that the Trust continue to their support for homeless youths in the area. Kerry said: “The money will go towards supporting us, including buying food, bedding, and things we need for the hostels.
"We try and do a family tea every Sunday so it will even help towards that, as well as consumables we use in the hostel.”
Tickets cost £55, or a table of ten can be booked for £500. To buy tickets, contact Whitehaven Community Trust.
