A WEST Cumbrian hotel is fast becoming a favourite among celebrities – after welcoming another famous face at the weekend.
Moresby Hall near Whitehaven hosted Roman Fury – brother of boxing legend Tyson Fury and Love Island star Tommy Fury – on Saturday night.
Roman is a professional boxer who turned pro in 2020 and is the ninth member of the Fury family to take up boxing.
He has been described by Tyson as an ‘aspiring cruiserweight champion of the future.’
The 27-year-old was on holiday in the area with his girlfriend and had been exploring Whitehaven before heading out to Ennerdale Water.
Steph Eilbeck, co-owner of Moresby Hall, said: “He was lovely. He’s a really nice guy. I didn’t know if it was him or not, at first.
“He had been into Whitehaven first and got blown away with the wind! He asked where to go and I suggested Ennerdale.”
Ms Eilbeck added that Roman had been impressed by the hotel and was talking about the history of the building.
Jo Arthur, co-owner of Moresby Hall, said: “He was quiet and unassuming and really pleasant.
“He’d been to Ennerdale and loved the scenery and enjoyed the harbour area in town.”
Moresby Hall has hosted a number of celebrities in recent weeks, including Nigel Farage who stayed the night during a visit to Whitehaven to film a segment for GB News in March.
Happy Mondays star Bez also stayed at the hotel last month following a show at the Rosehill Theatre in Whitehaven.
