A FUNDRAISER will be held this weekend to support a supermarket worker recovering from a devastating accident.
Friends and colleagues of Sharon Graham will hold a football match at St Benedict’s RUFC on Easter Sunday.
Sharon, the Community Champion for Morrisons supermarket in Whitehaven, was left with lifechanging injuries following a fall at home last year.
She has been described as a ‘huge part of the community’ who went ‘above and beyond’ to help others.
Steven Kirkbride, Morrisons Whitehaven Store Manager, said: "Sharon is an extremely popular colleague and she is also well known throughout the town as she was our Community Champion.
“This Sunday, friends and colleagues are planning a charity football match at St Benedict’s RUFC at 1pm to help raise funds to renovate Sharon's home so that she can move back home as quickly as possible."
Change Competitions, an online competition company which also supports charities and good causes, recently donated £700 to the Sharon Graham Rehabilitation Fund.
Nicholas Bragg, of the company, said: “Sharon has done so much fundraising for the local community over the years. We really wanted to contribute towards her rehabilitation. It’s causes like these that we really set up Change Competitions to help with.”
The fundraiser will kick-off at St Benedict’s RUFC on Sunday at 1pm.
