A Road Safety Audit will soon take place in Millom and Haverigg.
The audit by WSP Ltd is part of the Connecting Millom and Haverigg project.
The work will involve the WSP team undertaking a site visit to examine the existing highway layout or features where the new highway improvement schemes tie in.
The audit is expected to complete on April 8.
Representatives from Cumberland Council and and the Millom Town Deal Board recently had an engagement session that looked at proposed changes to the Connecting Millom and Haverigg project, one of four Millom Town Deal projects.
Millom Town Deal secured £20.6 million from the Government’s Towns Fund in November 2022 with an additional £8.7 million in match funding for the town and its communities.
The Millom and Haverigg communities recently gave their feedback on the proposals designed to make moving around the area safer and easier.
David Savage, chair of Millom Town Deal Board, said: "It is important that our local communities have their say, and we would like to thank everyone who took the time to attend the public drop-in event or completed the online survey.
"The responses will now be collated, and we will provide updates on the next steps of the scheme when they are available.
“Alongside this work, there will also be some traffic surveys taking place in early April by some specialists working on our behalf.”
Cumberland Council will deliver each of the Millom Town Deal projects.
Specialists from WSP UK Ltd and Open Architects will work to meet the standards and requirements of the Department for Transport to develop the project.
The project plans to make it easier and safer for people to move around on foot, by bicycle and by incorporating the needs of those with limited mobility.
Steps are also underway to find potential operators for a new activity and leisure facility in the area.
Interested parties have until 4pm on March 29 to respond via the council's online procurement service CHEST, email or post.
