A BUS route is set to be reinstated after an almost ten-year absence.
The 22-bus route which runs from Egremont through Cleator and into Whitehaven is set to return.
The service, which served the people of Cleator Moor and Hensingham, was discontinued in 2015 due to a dwindling number of passengers.
The bus route's reinstation will also benefit people travelling to West Cumberland Hospital as the service will pass through Hensingham as it did previously.
A Cumberland Council spokesperson said: "We've been awarded a grant of over £900,000 from the Department of Transport which we've split over two years."
Councillor Michael Eldon said: "From day one I was fighting for this to be reinstalled which would service the residents of Cleator.
"I've worked alongside the councillor from Egremont, Sam Pollen. The service will be much needed for the people of Cleator and those travelling from this area to West Cumberland Hospital."
