AN aspiring musician is due to release a new single next month.
Paul Shepherd, of Egremont, will release his new single Time and Time Again on April 12, 2024.
He will be hosting a series of launch parties at Manchester venues before and after the release of the single.
These will be held at The Grafton Arms on March 28 and April 11, Blockbusters NQ on April 14, and The Thirsty Scholar on April 20.
Paul moved to Manchester back in 2017 to pursue his studies but regularly returns to Cumbria to record music and gig at local pubs.
Mr Shepherd said: "I'm releasing a new single on April 12 called Time and Time Again and to celebrate its release I'll be doing single launch parties.
"I thought that instead of doing one night, which I typically see with single launches, I thought I'd stretch it out over a few nights.
"I'll be playing at three pubs over four different nights across the end of March and the start of April just to celebrate the release of the single.
"I'm posting about it on social media just to get people down, but I'm looking forward to the release and the gigs, it should be good we've got plenty of good support acts lined up.
"I'll be playing a few functions in Cumbria soon, but I haven't got any live gigs lined up in pubs and clubs yet.
"For this song, I was mainly focused on the music and the lyrics came quick towards the end of the writing process.
"I'd say the song is about resilience and not giving up.
"I've had this song written for a while and shelved; I submitted it as part of my university coursework back in 2021.
"It's been a collection of things that have meant I haven't released music for a while.
"The Covid lockdown put a stop to things and since then I've been working a lot. So with the new year coming around, I decided that I'd get back into doing what I love."
Over the last four years, Paul has released two EPs Hearing is Believing and This is History.
