A spectacular light and sound show is coming to St Bees Priory.
Cumberland Council has teamed up with Luxmuralis to bring Space: God, The Universe and Everything to residents.
The show was previously showcased at Carlisle Cathedral and is all set to dazzle audiences at St Bees Priory on Thursday, March 14 and Friday, March 15.
It will be held between 6.30pm and 9pm on each evening
Created with the support of Cumberland Council’s destination management team, the event is part of a new programme of events called The Light District, curated by the council's Discover Carlisle team.
This initiative is backed by the UK Government’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
Tickets for the event cost £4 and can be bought online at discovercarlisle.co.uk.
They are also available in person at Carlisle's Tourist Information Centre, The Beacon Museum, Whitehaven and St Bees Post Office.
Councillor Anne Quilter, Cumberland Council’s executive member for vibrant and healthy places, said: "Following the success of Carlisle City of Lights, more areas within Cumberland will form part of a series of events called The Light District.
"The St Bees Priory is an ideal location and is the latest location to host an event of this type.
"Get your tickets soon to avoid disappointment."
The initiative for this project has been fuelled by the success of past light events like Carlisle City of Lights and Workington Hall Lights.
Along with Cumberland Council and Luxmuralis, the local St Bees community has collaborated to stage this event.
St Bees School, St Bees Parish Council and Sellafield Ltd have lent their support to the event.
Doug Sim from St Bees Parish Council said: "This will be the kind of dynamic light show that has never been seen in West Cumbria before.
"The 900-year-old priory will look stunning."
