Whitehaven Coastguard Rescue Team have been simulating dramatic cliff rescues at Birkhams Quarry near Sandwith.
The scenario depicted a dog chasing wildlife off a cliff followed by its owner who sustained multiple injuries.
With a rope rescue technician on site, a spokesperson said: "Once in a position of safety with the casualties, they worked to assess, treat, package and recover them.
"The human dummy casualty was recovered in our rope rescue stretcher, with a second recovery undertaken for the the dog dummy in our specialist animal rope rescue bag."
They also highlighted that the sandstone from Birkhams Quarry has been employed in the construction of several local and international builds.
These include Carlisle Castle, Carlisle Cathedral, Muncaster Castle, Furness Abbey, Borrowbridge Railway Viaduct, Cockermouth Brewery, Barrow-in-Furness Town Hall, Caerlaverock Castle Dumfries, V&A Museum London, Liverpool Cathedral, and Albert Dock.
