THE case of an elderly motorist accused of causing serious injury by driving without due care and attention has been adjourned.
Alan Naylor, 81, is alleged to have caused serious injury to a male while driving a Volkswagen Tiguan on the A595 Loop Road South in Whitehaven on May 13 last year.
The defendant, of Spruce Grove, Whitehaven, is yet to appear in court to face a charge of causing injury by careless or inconsiderate driving.
A plea hearing was due to take place at Workington Magistrates’ Court on Monday but the case was adjourned.
Prosecutor Pamela Fee said medical records for the defendant would need to be obtained and the case would then be reviewed. The matter was adjourned until April 15.
